Scouting Report: Jurickson Profar (TEX)
This is the ninth day of twelve in my 12 days of scouting reports. Tomorrow scouting report will be St. Louis Cardinals infielder Kolten Wong.
About the player: Jurickson Profar is a 19-year old shortstop in the Texas Rangers organization. Profar was sign as an amateue free-agent back in 2009 at age 16. He is ranked towards the top in the Rangers minor league system.
Bat: Profar has a smooth steady swing and really drives the bat threw the zone. 60/65
Power: He has average pop off his bat. 45/50
Speed: Profar is a above average runner. 60/60
Fielding: Profar has good foot work and for the most part takes good routs to the ball. 60/60
Arm: Profar has a canon at short. 60/65
Body: Profar is 6′ 0″, and weighs 165 lbs.
Risk factor: High, profar has yet to prove he can hit big league pitching and is still very young.
Future: I see him as a solid middle infielder in the Major Leagues in the near future.
